Student Entry: Nature is Coming to an End - Faviola

Here what you see in these pictures, the back is like a black and white, desert like background. The background symbolizes that nature is coming to an end and there is not enough people to save the planet. The important symbol here in these pictures is the flowers. The flower symbolizes hope and a chance to save the earth. The question that comes in to my mind is, “What can we do to save nature? Is there a day where nature is coming to an end?” My advice to myself is try to save it with other people, try to save nature because it is important to all of us because without nature, we have nothing.

Student Entry: Every Picture Has a Meaningful Message - Jacky

Today, me and the other students took pictures of things that had a message about life and wrote in our journals and added pictures in them. It was something interesting to me and I had fun taking pictures. By learning this I realize that every picture has a meaningful message.

Student Entry: I Just Want To Be Myself - Lily Gomez

In Response to Journaling Topic: "Who are you?"

I see myself as a leader and not a follower and a role model to my siblings since I’m the oldest of my brother and sisters. They think I’m a nice and weird person sometimes. I want to portray myself as a very nice person and that’s there for a friend. I just want to be myself and never someone else. So people wont say that I’m not myself.

Student Entry: Nature Means Everything To Me - Faviola

In Response to Journaling Topic: "Who are you?"

What I am is just a person who invisible. I see things that people don’t see. People think I’m annoying, people think I don’t exist, and people think I’m paranoid. I am a person who loves nature and cares about it. What I want is to see more of nature, when I see pictures of the sun, the moon, and nature; I feel inspired. I see over a million people who tried their best to help nature and I want to be one of those people because I care about nature and nature means everything to me.

Student Entry: First Day - Arsenia

This is my first time coming to photography class and I enjoyed it very much - there isn't a club after school that I have looked forward to staying for. I like this class because it allows different people to come together and be involved in different types of projects that catch our interest and revolves all around photography and this class is going to also help us develop different types of techniques and skills that can help us take more professional pictures. The First Day in this club I learned that pictures could express strong messages that can better the world and impact everyone on a personal level.

Student Entry: Hope - Yazmin

Today in my creative writing class I learned about the HOPE chronicles. The HOPE chronicles is a program where anyone can write their hopes down.  We, the students in the creative writing class, have to interview different people and hear their stories they have to write down their hope. Any type of hope, whether it's for the world, friends, family, neighbors, or school, anything.  In the photography class there was a question that said, “If you can tell the world one message, what would it be?” and I think it relates to what I learned in creative writing class. It’s a difficult question to answer but I think the answer is to have hope, because without hope you can’t pursue anything, it's like giving up.  I think I’m going to like this class because one picture can send out multiple messages, there’s no right or wrong answer. Also we get to share out our perspectives, the way I’m doing right now, and I really like that.
